How to Improve Your Organization’s Performance and Momentum

Now that you have a your own organization, it’s your job to lead them. Your team won’t automatically know what to do. It’s up to you to coach them into becoming the successful business owners.

Training

Being successful in network marketing is always a team effort. In order for your organization to be successful, they must possess the same skills you learned. This means a lot of training!

Your partners should know these basic skills:

Building a prospect list

Teaching them to make a list of a hundred or more people they know, along with their contact numbers. The more they have the better.

Prioritizing potential partners and customers in order (e.g. those with dependents, those with influence, those that are easy to approach).

Training on approaching and inviting prospects
Training on phone invitations
Training on different ways of approaching a prospect
Presenting the business opportunity and the products
Using visual aids and marketing material
Training of all products and services
Training on the business system
How to close a prospect
How to handle objections
Asking for the business
How to get referrals

Showing, is always the best way to teach a skill. Let your team see how you invite, present, and close. Have your partners sit in on your meetings. Set aside some time for simulating invitations and presentations. Let them do the presentations and give feedback on what worked and what they could have done better.

Monitoring

Always set a concrete, reasonable goal. This is the only real way to know if you’re getting anywhere with your business:

Goal + Plan + Action = Results

Start with setting a solid target goal for your team. If some of your teammates declare that they want X amount of income in Y number of months, then you must work with them to create a plan on how to achieve their goal.

Once the plan is in place, touch base with your partners once or twice a week to make sure they are following their own plan. Track their performance and see if they hit their goal. It’s best if you can meet with them in person after the first few weeks of working with them.

Feedback

It’s not enough just to monitor your partner’s progress. You also want to give feedback on their performance, to keep them on track. This means:

Acknowledge their efforts and successes.

Coach and motivate them when their performance goes down.

It helps to focus on the goal. If your team gets discouraged and is no longer following their plan, remind them of their commitment to their dreams and the purpose of working their business. If they have been exceeding their targets, be sure to acknowledge their efforts and tell them that they are that much closer to achieving their goals!

Remember that your business partners are people not machines. They need motivation and to feel that they are not alone. Bring up their morale.

Setting New Standards

Once your team has achieved their goals, congratulate them. Then encourage them to set higher ones.

Continuous improvement is the key to any successful business. Keep the attitude of: “I did well but I can do better?” They won’t reach their goals if they settle for the easy and mediocre. It’s up to you to encourage them to achieve higher, so continually set higher standards for your business partners.

Teaching Others

Now that your partners know the very basics of your business, your final task is to teach them the more advanced skills. They must all know how to train, monitor, encourage, and coach their own partners.

You want to duplicate yourself, so that you can leverage other people’s time and talents. You want them to lead their own groups, and they’ll need to know how to manage them the same way you did. In network marketing, your team is your greatest asset, treat them well and watch your business grow!
